The Wormy Curly Yellow Ambrosia Maple Custom Snare Drum
This 6.75x12” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 100% Wormy Curly Ambrosia Maple wood staves. The grain is oriented so that there’s a continuation of pattern. Most of the smaller worm holes were filled in but some of the larger worm holes were left open to add a bit of dryness to the overall sound.
As for the finish, I applied yellow dye and topped is off with high gloss, super durable polyester clear coat. This drum has:
offset 45 degree bearing edges.
a 0.45” thick stave shell
dual point low antiqued black brass lugs with brass shavings in resin at the contact points, handmade for Seven Six Drum Co in Serbia
black nickel triple flanged hoops and tension rods
20 strand snare wires
Antiqued black brass handmade throw off and butt plate
Matching air vent grommet
