The Batiste Purpleheart Custom Snare Drum
This 6x14” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 100% Purpleheart wood staves for Seven Six Drum Company artist Russell Batiste. Purpleheart is an exotic hardwood from Central and South America. It is about 2 times harder than maple, which translates to a bright, powerful crack and a rich finish. As for the finish, I topped it off with 15 coats of high gloss, super durable 2K polyester clear coat and a hand rubbed satin oil finish was applied to the interior.
This drum has:
offset roundover to 45 degree bearing edges.
a 0.66” thick stave shell
single point gold lugs and tension rods
gold triple flanged hoops
Purseound Custom Pro 24 strand snare wires with cotter pins, allowing removal of bottom head without removing snare contact/placement strips
Gold INde Drum throw off and butt plate
Matching air vent grommet
Remo Ambassador and Ambassador heads.
