The Walnut Piccolo Custom Snare Drum w/ Hand-Rubbed Oil Finish (exclusively available at Steve Maxwell Drum shops: maxwelldrums.com)
**** THIS DRUM IS AVAILABLE AT STEVE MAXWELL DRUMS - WWW.MAXWELLDRUMS.COM
This 3.875x14” custom handcrafted piccolo snare drum is built from 100% Walnut wood staves. Walnut is a classic wood for building snare drums, and this particular piece has some gorgeous featuring. Expect a very versatile drum that has a nice dry crack but can also be tuned to become warmer and fatter. As for the finish, I topped it off with 10 coats of hand-rubbed oil clear coat and allowed it to cure for 1 month to ensure durability.
This drum has:
offset roundover to 45 degree bearing edges.
a 0.45” thick stave shell
dual point chrome lugs and tension rods
diecast chrome hoops
Brass 20 strand snare wires
Chrome throw off and butt plate
Matching air vent grommet
Remo Powerstroke and Ambassador heads.
