Denim Country (available exclusively at baterista-sales.com)

$0.00

My very first drumset was a thin steel-shelled kit that had a pseudo-denim print on the exterior. The bass drum resonant head had the words “Denim Country” on it, written in rope. I wasn’t into country music, it was just the cheapest kit in the Sears catalog in 1976, which was the year I went to see Buddy Rich perform for the first time, in Wheeling, West Virginia (and also where the name of this drum company comes from).

With the first drum produced by Seven Six Drum Company, I thought it would be cool to do a tribute to that first drum kit, so I built this shell out of maple and ash, applied a silver flake wax to it, buffed most of it off so that all that remained was deep in the grain, and then stained it with what approximates denim blue. The silver wax gives it a bit of a “steel” look.

This drum is 13x7 with a 7/16” thick shell with a Tung Oil interior. It comes with black nickel triple flanged hoops, black nickel lugs and tension rods, a black nickel DW throw, Puresound snare wires, and Remo heads. It is Seven Six Drum Company’s serial #001.

***This drum is available at my exclusive distributor, Baterista-Sales.com. It is NOT available for purchase on this 76drums.com website. It is listed as costing $0.00 dollars here so I can list it as in-stock, but it is not in stock at 76drums…it’s in stock in Canada at baterista-sales.com
