The Yellow Hickory Custom Stave Shell Snare Drum
This 7x14” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 100% Hickory wood staves. Not a veneer, it’s 100% Hickory wood through and through. Hickory is a hardwood that is about 20% harder than maple. This particular wood has some gorgeous featuring. As for the finish, I topped it off with a faded yellow aniline dye and 20 coats of high gloss, super durable 2K polyester clear coat.
This drum has:
roundover/30 degree bearing edges.
a 0.66” thick stave shell
black nickel lugs and tension rods
black nickel triple flanged hoops
24 strand brass Puresound Custom Pro snare wires with brass ends
Trick black throw off and butt plate
Matching air vent grommet
Remo Ambassador heads.
