The Lightning Red Padauk Custom Snare Drum
This 7.75x14” custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 1/2 inch thick Padauk wood. Padauk is a hard, exotic wood that comes from Africa. This shell has 45 degree bearing edges, and I topped it off with a crystal clear, glossy, glassy, pricey, pretty, durable polyester clear coat. My customer wanted a “nickel” lightning stripe, so that was added, along with a “Crystal” wash. I used dual-point single-ended black nickel lugs. This custom snare drum has black nickel die-cast hoops, black nickel tension rods, brass Puresound 24 strand snare wires, a black nickel DW throw off and butt plate, and Remo heads. This custom snare drum has a huge tuning range and can go from tight cannon to sensitive orchestral snare to fat deep snare.
