(Definitely not affiliated with) LSU Drum
A customer is an LSU (Louisiana State University) alum and wanted a drum that reminded him of his college years. I created a 5.5x14 100% Louisiana Cypress shell that is about 3/5” thick. I thought a “weathered” look would best suit the Louisiana state tree and finished it in (definitely not affiliated with in any way) black LSU Tiger (their mascot) stripes along with purple and yellow colors that are definitely not the exact same as the copy written LSU colors. I topped that off with 9 coats of crystal clear @generalfinishes poly clear coat. This custom snare drum has black nickel die cast rims, tension rods, and lugs, Puresound Custom Pro snare wires, a DW Mag throw off and butt plate in black nickel, and Remo and Evans heads. As usual with a stave drum this size, it has a fantastic crack and looks sexy, too. This one is sold, but I can make a similar drum if you’re into it.
