The Purple Savannah
This 100% Louisiana Cypress custom snare drum is a drum I created for a client who came and visited me in my studio in New Orleans. Savannah wanted a Cypress drum in purple with black hardware and that’s what I created for her. She also wanted her initials utilized in the design, so instead of just adding her initials in her requested gold color, I created a gold bar and cut her initials out of the gold to reveal the actual color and grain of the the Cypress…as if you’re looking through the initials into the soul of the drum.
Here are some specs: This beauty is a 7x14 custom snare drum with 0.65” thick stave shell with 45 degree bearing edges.
This custom snare drum has black nickel die-cast hoops and tension rods, Champagne Drum custom handmade low mass lugs powdercoated in black, an INde black nickel throw and butt plate, Purseound Custom Pro 24 strand brass snare wires, and Remo heads.
It all combines to give the drum a great bottom end AND crack while tuned medium-high and above. This custom snare drum is perfect for power ballads and just about anything else you throw at it.
This drum is sold but I can create something similar for you or customize it to your liking. Turnaround time is 3-4 weeks
