El Gran Rey
The third in my “El Rey” series, this is a purple monster. It’s a 7.5x14” 100% purpleheart shell is 0.68”” thick and has offset 45 degree bearing edges. I topped it off with 9 coats of crystal clear, glossy, glassy, pricey, pretty, durable polyester clear coat. This custom snare drum has die cast brass hoops and tension rods, brass custom made low mass single contact point lugs from Champagne Drum in Canada, Puresound Custom Pro snare wires, a DW brass throw off and 5 position butt plate, and Remo heads. As usual with a stave drum this size, it has a fantastic crack and looks sexy, too.
