Zee, Brah!
So, what had happened was…there’s a hair metal band from New Orleans that was founded in 1975 that apparently still plays live occasionally. Their name is Zebra, but there’s a suburb of New Orleans called “Kenner”, and in a typical New Orleans accent, it’s pronounce “Kennah”, or, more often than not, people say “I’m from Kennah, brah”. So, Zebra’s name got bastardized as “Zee, brah!” OK, now that I’ve wasted 20 seconds of your life that you’ll never get back, let’s talk about this monster!
It’s an 8x14 100% Zebrawood stave snare with a shell that is about 7/10ths of an inch thick. It has offset 45 degree bearing edges, dual point single ended black nickel lugs and tension rods, black nickel die-cast hoops, an DW black nickel throw off, Puresound Custom Pro brass 24 strand snare wires, a Remo Coated Controlled Sound reverse white dot batter head and Evans 300 snare side head. It’s finished in satin poly clear coat on the exterior and Pure Tung oil on the interior.
Its CRACK fantastic with a low end that’s undeniable. It’s super sensitive and can be played in low volume situations, but due to the higher fundamental tone of the super thick hardwood shell, this thing cuts through…brah. Seven Six Drum Company’s serial #002
This one is sold but I can create another just like it or customize it to your liking
