The Padauk and Louisiana Cypress Side/Utility Snare (available exclusively at baterista-sales.com)

$0.00

This 6.25x10 inch custom handcrafted snare drum is built from 100% Padauk wood staves with a 1 inch layer of Louisiana Cypress staves in the center. That lovely color and figuring is not a veneer, it’s through and through Padauk and Cypress. Padauk is an African wood that is incredibly hard - about 50% harder than maple, but has a much more complex grain structure and red appearance. Louisiana Cypress is a soft wood found not far from the Seven Six Drum Company headquarters. I added a bit of gold flavoring to the Cypress to bring out the brass tones of the hardware. It is finished in pretty, pricey, durable high gloss polyester. This drum is a match with the 7x14” Padauk/Cypress custom snare you’ll find elsewhere on this site.

This drum has:

  • offset 45 degree bearing edges.

  • a 0.66” thick stave shell

  • handmade antiqued brass lugs (with brass shavings in resin at the center) and throw off / butt plate from W. Odd Drums in Serbia

  • brass triple flanged hoops and tension rods

  • 20 strand snare wires throw off and butt plate

  • Matching air vent grommet

  • Remo heads.

***This drum is available at my exclusive distributor, Baterista-Sales.com. It is NOT available for purchase on this 76drums.com website. It is listed as costing $0.00 dollars here so I can list it as in-stock, but it is not in stock at 76drums…it’s in stock in Canada at baterista-sales.com
